Movie Posters!

I had to create a number of posters for my Generated Image class.  Well I started off thinking huge of course.  I wanted to create my imagination like never before, but as time got closer towards the end of the semester I had to quickly get over my ego and think smaller.

I got the idea to take my three of my favorite directors and film writers and collage all their best movies into one image.

I basically used photoshop to cut out every individual picture and enhance them.  I think the Judd Apatow one really shows my selection tool skills (and quick mask of course) I litterly spent a lot of time on each photo cutting out just the portion I wanted in making it as perfect as I could.  I notice that Judd Apatow's movie covers all pretty much have the same style to them;  the main character large in the foreground with just one enhancing color in the back.  Its in my opinion simple but a great signature look for him.  I wanted to give this the same appeal, but the black background was the most graphically pleasing to me after I had already put everything else together.  I think overall it turned out okay.  Probably could be better, but I don't mind it!

The Tim Burton poster was actually my first in the series. Its not hard making a kick ass poster for him when your already using pieces from his own work.  Just wanted it to be an creative appeal as to how I see his work. I imagined it a lot different honestly, but I'm still pleased with it!

Wes Anderson is the man!! Darjeeling is one of my ultimate favorite films.  I think its like a ritual for me to put that movie on and light some in-scent burners with candles.  First time I watched that film it gave me a cloud of ideas, so I spent the whole night up all through the later afternoon writing them down.  He inspires me like none other...  Its just the feeling of things he brings to the picture.  I don't think I could ever express through even art how he inspires me.  This saddens me, but if you like his work at all I think you get the idea already!
